FAQ regarding Search Engine Advertising

Every client from The Austrians receives a dedicated campaign manager who develops and monitors your online advertising campaign, bringing you the most qualified traffic available.

Some of the typical duties include:

• Reducing your cost-per-click
• Adding negative keywords to ensure traffic is qualified
• Comparing statistics with Google Analytics and Google Insights
• Generating client reports and identifying industry trends
• Making changes to the ads to reflect new directions in your business

The most common reasons why people might not find your ads are:

Time of Day – your ads are scheduled to run from a certain period of time, i.e. if your ads are scheduled to run 9-5, and you check at night they will not appear
Budget Spent – your daily budget is already spent, i.e. if lots of people click your ads in the morning they will run out by the afternoon
• If you kept searching for your own ad without clicking it, Google will automatically think that this ad is not interesting to you and will stop showing it

We do Google AdWords campaign structures as recommended by Google.

• AdGroups – contain relevant keywords and ads specific to a product or service.
• Ads – the ads are the text or image ads that appear on the Google search engine.
• Keywords – are the terms or phrases that “trigger” your ad to appear

PPC: Pay Per Click - a business model whereby a company that has placed an advertisement on i.e. Google and pays a sum of money to this host when a user clicks on the advertisement

CPC: Cost Per Click - refers to the actual price you pay for each click in your pay-per-click (PPC) marketing campaigns

CPA/PPA: Cost Per Action/Acquisition (same as PPA) - is calculated as: cost divided by the number of acquisitions. So for example, if one spends AED250 on a campaign and gets 10 “acquisitions” this would give a cost per acquisition of AED25.

CTR: Click-Through-Rate is a metric used to measure the success of an online advertising campaign. It is presented as a percentage, calculated by: number of clicks that your ad receives divided by the number of times your ad is shown (called impressions). The benchmark CTR percentage Google identifies as 1-2% (for search advertising).

Impressions are how often your ads are displayed on the Google Network (Search or Display).

You can have an unlimited amount of keywords. The keywords will be carefully researched and selected by your campaign manager.

To place an Ad on the top all the time will require an unlimited budget. The CPC is much higher because everyone wants to be on top. On the third position or bottom of the page you will get more clicks for your budget as those positions have a lower click price.

Yes ,  if you want your ad to appear only during certain hours this can be set.

Call extensions in Google AdWords is an ad extension that allows searchers to directly call businesses by placing a phone number directly within an ad. On smartphones, a clickable 'Call' button is displayed with the ad, making it particularly engaging for people on the move

Ad extensions is the umbrella term for all extensions that show extra information (“extending” from your text ads) about your business. Such as location, site links, call, message. Some can be added manually and others are automated.

Yes, if you want your Ad to be shown only to people in Abu Dhabi this can be set. Or it can be the other way round. You can exclude any location.

You could manage it yourself but will find out soon enough that it is not only very complicated and time consuming but it also takes constant rebidding, adjusting and researching to keep the campaign running successfully.
